Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke passed away today, December 7, 2019 at the age of 79. Evg Bonnke founded Christ for All Nations in 1974 and was by many accounts the most effective and prolific evangelist in history, with over 79 million recorded salvations during his ministry. His crusades were groundbreaking in scope, regularly drawing hundreds of thousands and even millions, with the 1.6 million people in attendance at a single service in his November, 2000 crusade in Lagos, Nigeria. Bonnke’s ministry was also marked by the fire and power of the Holy Spirit. Declaring that God had a “flame for every head” Bonnke prayed for millions to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Bonnke ministered on numerous occasions at Pentecostal World Conferences. His influence and inspiration to other Pentecostal ministries is significant. Pentecostal World Fellowship Executive Committee member Dag Heward-Mills said of Bonnke, “His example served as a living school, training me for ministry. His life taught me great lessons. God has and continues to use him to disciple me.”
Dr. Billy Wilson, Chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship Executive Committee said, “Reinhard Bonnke was the most fruitful evangelist in Christian history. His ministry touched millions including me. His example, his integrity, his anointing, his focus and his message all served as a profound inspiration. He was the most single-minded minister I have ever met. Reinhard gave his all (including his body) to reach the lost. One can only imagine the throng of redeemed that welcomed him home today. We join in prayer for his family and all of our friends at CFAN as they continue Reinhard's legacy of harvest.”
